Weight Loss Program FAQs
What medications can't be Prescribed?

The decision to prescribe medication depends on the consulting health practitioner’s assessment of your condition. While many medications can be prescribed online, some, such as sedatives or certain S8-classified medicines, may not be issued.

Prescriptions are issued at the discretion of the medical practitioner, who determines the best course of action. GPs and Nurse Practitioners are unable to prescribe schedule 8 medicines and schedule 4D medicines via a telehealth consultation. Schedule 8 and Schedule 4D medicines include, but are not limited to:

Schedule S8: Alprazolam, Buprenorphine, Dexamphetamine, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, Lis-dexamphetamine, Methadone, Methylphenidate, Morphine, Oxycodone, Tapentadol, and Pethidine.

Schedule 4D: Benzodiazepines (Clonazepam, Diazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam), Phentermine, Pregabalin, Testosterone, Modafinil, Zolpidem, and Zopiclone.

What would I do if I did not receive the online script the medical practitioner agreed to issue?

If our medical practitioner agrees to issue the instant script online, you should receive it via SMS or email within 15 minutes. In case you haven’t received it, you can contact our support team info@alohatelehealth.com.au  or call 0406173237 and raise a query. We will get back to you at the earliest and ensure your prescription is sent to you.

Will online scripts be accepted by the pharmacist?

Yes, you can use scripts online in NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, ACT, WA, NT and across most of the pharmacies in all Australian states & territories. The pharmacies are equipped to dispense medicines using electronic prescriptions. The prescription token will be directly sent to you via SMS or mobile which you can then use to get your medicines from anywhere in Australia

What are Aloha’s weight loss treatments? Why don’t you name them?

Your practitioner will assess your individual needs and health goals to recommend the most suitable treatment for you. This decision will be based on your medical history and current health status. This personalised approach ensures that your treatment plan is both effective and tailored to your unique requirements.
